About the Tournament

The Tokelau Easter Festival is the largest gathering of the Tokelauan diaspora in the world. For 50 years, this biennial festival has brought together Tokelauan communities from across Aotearoa New Zealand, Australia, Hawai'i, and the atolls of Tokelau itself.

Founded in 1976, the festival has grown from a humble community sports day into a four-day celebration of sport, culture, faith, and education. TEF2026 takes place at Bruce Pulman Park, Takanini, Auckland — with the theme “Raising Leaders, Rooted in Culture.”

For the first time, the founder will experience the festival with four generations of his family present. Hosted by MTTA, the 2026 festival marks the historic 50th Anniversary — the Golden Jubilee of Tokelauan unity and resilience.
